Return and Exchange Policy

The Washington Post Store will accept eligible merchandise for refund or exchange within 30 days of purchase.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused or unworn and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging and be accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase.

You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned, including gift cards, perishable goods (e.g. food or flowers), and personalized items.

To complete your return:

Consult the paperwork accompanying your order. It will indicate to whom you should direct your refund or exchange inquiry. Do not ship your goods to The Washington Post or one of our vendors without first following the instructions. If you cannot find the paperwork accompanying your order, email store@washingtonpost.com

If the item was damaged or lost during shipping to you, we will file a claim with the shipping carrier and a replacement or refund (including initial shipping charges) will be issued upon completion of the claim verifying the damage or loss. Original product packaging is required for filing a damage claim.

Shipping charges for your initial order and the cost to send the good back to us will be refunded ONLY if the return is due to our error (for example, wrong product sent) or if the product was damaged or lost during shipping. Otherwise, you are responsible for the charges to send the item back and we will deduct the initial shipping charges from the refund amount.  If the item is exchanged, unless it was our error, you will be billed for the applicable shipping cost for the new good sent to you.

If your refund request is approved, then your refund will be processed, and we will issue a refund in the amount of the price you paid for the returned item, including taxes, minus (if applicable) initial shipping charges and restocking fees, to your credit card or other payment method you used to place your order for that item, usually within 3-5 business days. Please note that for items purchased on sale, the refund amount is limited to the actual purchase (i.e., sale) price paid.
